WE HELP
OUR OWN

Helping our own is not one program, it's what happens when someone in the Coast Guard community reaches a moment they cannot solve alone.

From unexpected expenses to life-changing challenges, CGMA helps Coast Guard families find a way forward. These are just a few of the ways we turn 'we help our own' into real support.

medical
equipment

Sometimes helping our own means more than $12,000 in medical equipment a family never expected to need.

safe harbor

Sometimes helping our own means helping someone leave an abusive situation and get to safety.

high-interest debt

Sometimes helping our own means replacing high-interest debt with a zero-interest path forward.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN CGMA SHOWS UP

IN THEIR OWN WORDS

Clients describe opening an approval email and crying at their desk. A weight lifted. A crisis suddenly became solvable. CGMA stopped being something they had once heard about. It became the organization that showed up when they needed it most.

Their support has been nothing short of life changing. I will forever be grateful for their role in helping me on this deeply personal journey to motherhood.

I have always been deeply proud to serve in the Coast Guard, but experiencing the profound care and compassion of CGMA makes us realize how incredibly blessed we are to be part of this community.

- Disaster Assistance Recipient

This assistance lifted a tremendous burden off our shoulders and reminded us that we are not alone, even during our most challenging moments.

SUPPORT STARTS WITH AWARENESS

From Cape May to the Coast Guard Academy, we’re reaching the next generation at the start of service—so they know help is there long before they need it.

Financial assistance is one important part of a broader support system, not a substitute for mental health care. If you or someone you know is having thoughts of suicide or self harm, please call or text the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988.
