WHERE ITÂ
ALL BEGINS
COMMUNITY ON DAY ONE
Every Coast Guard career starts somewhere.
Â
For our enlisted workforce, that beginning is Training Center Cape May. For our commissioned officer corps, it is the Coast Guard Academy. Two accession points. One Coast Guard.

WHO WILL ANSWER THE CALL
TRAINING CENTER CAPE MAY
Every enlisted Coast Guard member begins here. It is where civilians become Coast Guardsmen. It is where service identity begins to take shape. And it is where we wanted this campaign to begin.

We asked some of our newest Coast Guard members to lead the call that will turn a moment at Secretaries’ Cup into momentum across our commununity WE ARE... COAST GUARD.

BEFORE THE NEED ARISES
WHY START THIS EARLY
Our own client research reinforces the importance of early awareness. Boot camp, the Academy and A School exposure can give members a name to remember years later when financial hardship becomes real.

A Coast Guard member should not have to reach a crisis before learning that CGMA exists.

WHO WILL LEAD THE WAY
UNITED STATES COAST GUARD ACADEMY
The Coast Guard Academy prepares the next generation of Coast Guard officers. That makes it just as important to this campaign. If awareness of CGMA should begin at the start of service, then it has to begin here too.
CADETS HELPING CADETS
Our CEO, Brooke Millard, visited the Coast Guard Academy to address the Corps of Cadets in 2024. She asked if any of the members if they heard of CGMA. Only a few raised their hands.
Â
This year, Coast Guard Academy cadets worked directly with CGMA through a capstone project to increase understanding of CGMA and support available, and the seniors reached 100% contact with every single cadet at the Academy.

We are Coast Guard is not simply telling people CGMA exists. It’s building a Coast Guard community that understands from the beginning that help is there.

TWO PATHS. ONE SERVICE.
WHAT UNITES US
One path begins in Cape May.
One begins in New London.

One produces the enlisted workforce.
One produces its officers.
Both become Coast Guard and every member should begin their service knowing one thing,
when one of our own needs help, we show up for each other.
